METAL MONUMENT CONVOY

I have never really been a fan of Transformers Beast Wars series. However, this is one rare piece of merchandise worth collecting. I found this & Metal Monument Megatron during one of my trips to Singapore.

Beast Convoy or Optimus Primal to some of you, is made almost entire from pewter. This mini statue stands just under 12cm, and you can only imagine that it weighs quite a bit. The base of the figure is engraved with the Maximal emblem, & is screwed onto the foot of Beast Convoy.

View from other angles.

This statue comes with a secondary head. However in total, there are three faces for you to display. Let's have a look at them individually.

This is the first head, as per the other images above. It is the normal face of Beast convoy.

The second face, is actually just behind the same head. All you have to do is just to flip it the other way. This is the mutant face of Beast Convoy. It is by far my favorite head among the other two. The face looks like a mutated Wolverine from X-Men.

Lastly, this is the second head sculpture that shows another version of the normal Beast Convoy face.

GIMLI

Let's look at something different for a change. Today will be my first review of my Games Workshop figurines. This metal miniature of Gimli is from Games Workshop's Lord of The Rings (LOTR) miniature table top gaming. It is from the Fellowship of The Ring (FOTR) series.

In Australia these toys were distributed with a magazine on a bi-weekly basis by DeAgostini. They were titled LOTR: Battle Games in Middle-earth. I purchased the first magazine which featured a couple of Moria goblins and got hooked on this series for 28 issues.

Front view of Gimli.

My apologies as the paint job isn't up to par. I collected these during my university days & found painting them quite addictive.

GRAY EDWARDS

This is the second Palisades Final Fantasy figure that I purchased, alongside Dr. Aki Ross. In the animated movie FF: The Spirits Within, Gray Edwards is voiced by the actor Alec Baldwin. Gray plays the Captain for a special-ops team known as Deep Eyes. This elite squad is a side branch of the United States Military Force (USMF).

Here's how Gary looks like out of the box.

The view from different angles.

Upon closer inspection it says: DEEPEYES Search & Delete Squad.

Gray comes with a few accessories. A G302D Serpent rifle, combat knife & the AN/SUS - 9C Nightmare tactical helmet. Like Dr. Aki, It's a pity the armor is sewn on & cannot be removed & interchanged with parts of other 1/6 figures.

Here's a closeup of Gray with the helmet on.

Fully geared up. I just find it weird that the combat knife sticks out like a sore thumb on the lower left shoulder.

In terms of stability Gray is rather solid & can be posed around freely. However, due to the design of the suit, it constricts the figure from doing many poses.

AUTOBOT COSMOS

This is going to be a very short post. Nothing much to describe about this cute little UFO except that its’ a major facelift as compared to the G1 predecessor.

The transformation steps are pretty simple however, do be careful when transforming the legs. The yellow thighs dislocate quite easily, it’s nothing serious. With only 6 points of articulation, you can’t expect much from Cosmos.
