TIFFANY 3 (ISSUE 45 ART)

[SERIES 26: THE ART OF SPAWN]

From Series 26 of The Spawn, today we take a look at Tiffany (3rd version) by Mc'Farlane Toys. Even the ear rings on Tiffany bear the Spawn emblem.

I have to say that this is one sexy figure. In terms of articulation however, don't expect this to be just like any other Spawn figures. The only parts that can be moved about at the waist and head.

The blade splits up into two parts where you first slide the handle of the sword through both hands, & then you close the sword up by attaching the blade onto the handle.

A closer look at the back of the figure.

This figure is depicted in an attacking posture as Tiffany jumps towards her enemies. There is a sturdy metal beam that you can attach from her knee onto any part of the base that is included with this figure.

The base can be spun around lightly from a lever situated at the back of the base. Like many other Spawn figures, the paint application on this figure is great. Although there is nothing much to write about this figure, Tiffany 3 serves as a great display pieces in the cabinet.

JYAAKU THE NIGHTMARE

[SERIES 19: DARK AGES SPAWN - THE SAMURAI WARS]

This is one ugly beast from the Spawn comic line, presenting Jyaaku The Nightmare.

This figure is made out of three dragon heads connected to a beast body, with arms & hands of a reptile. The tail however looks like an ancient armadillo with a scorpion's stinger.

This figure can be posed about, however the overall movement is fairly limited. Although you can move most of the limbs, the rotation of the main torso & shape of the right palm shows Jyaaku in a kneeling position most of the time.

Thinking back long & hard, I can't seem to remember why I purchased this figure. Perhaps it was one of those occasions that I started to feel bored when there was nothing to purchase.

BLUE ANGELA (SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION)

This limited edition Collector's Club Angela, also known as Blue Angela dates back to sometime in 1995 from Mc'Farlane's Spawn Series 2.

Here's various angles of Blue Angela. She comes equipped with a sword & a staff.

Being one of the early Spawn series toys, there is detail on the toy but they still lack in articulation as compared to the newer series.

Here's Blue Angela with her staff.

The staff has a launching mechanism that fires a small projectile.

Lastly, this is Blue Angela fully equipped and ready for war.

WINGS OF REDEMPTION SPAWN

[SERIES 21: ALTERNATE REALITIES]

Just in time for Christmas & of all things angelic, let's take a look at one of my Spawn collection. I've always been attracted to objects & images with angel wings. For that reason alone, I picked this toy up many years ago.

I can't say much about the background of this Spawn character as I never really followed the comic.

Being a detailed figure, there are numerous points of articulation to pose this figure. Then only setback is that the wings are a little heavy & I find it very difficult to pose Spawn the way I want to, rather than to pose it in a way that the toy won't topple.

Anyway, here's the rear view of the toy. In recent years, Mc'Farlane launched a 12" version but due to restriction in space, I better pass on that huge character.

LOTUS ANGEL WARRIOR

[SERIES 19: DARK AGES SPAWN - THE SAMURAI WARS]

During my university days in Adelaide, Australia on & ff I started getting bored of Transformers. So once in a while I'll visit the local comic store.

This mystical samurai angel is part of Spawn's Series 19 known as Dark Ages Spawn - The Samurai Wars. Lotus is depicted as a female samurai warrior wielding  two katanas & a long  battle spear.

Notice anything different? She is now equipped in full battle gear. Basically that can be done just by adding the two leg armors.

Here's a closer look at the removable leg armor. They both come in twosections that can be joined together easily.

There are a couple of setbacks to this figure. Unfortunately in terms of poses, Lotus only has five points of articulation. The battle spear can be removed from the back, but what's the point? Lotus can't hold them. Both the katanas are attached onto the hands & cannot be removed.

Nevertheless, I still like this piece a lot. Lotus looks very sleek & sexy for a deadly warrior. Even though her foot are small, this is quite a stable figure. Another thing that you can do is to adjust the length of the battle spear to touch the ground as additional support.

SHE SPAWN [SERIES 21: ALTERNATE REALITIES]

Today, let's take a look at She Spawn from the Spawn Series 21 - Alternate Realities. These figures usually have very few points of articulation, however the paint job on them are absolutely fantastic.

She Spawn comes with a huge gun that requires some balancing in order for the figure to stand up right, and not fall forward. The gun is quite heave and shoulder strap actually dues help in keeping it from falling down.

Different angles of She Spawn.

This is the alternate weapon. It's a long staff with a scythe at one end & a sharp mace at the other. You don't have to do much with the arrangement of the hands as staff fits snugly.

Lastly, there is also another weapon at the right shoulder if you look carefully. This contraption holds two protruding daggers. I'm going to leave it there as it is, just in case I break it off while pulling it out.
