NISSAN FAIRLADY Z / MEGATRON (DIAMOND BLACK)

The Alternity range came out in the year 2009 & my first impression was that it's a spinoff from the previous Binaltech / Alternators line. One of my pals said it's going to be a headache & a huge burn in the wallet to collect each new figure that comes out from this line.

This is their version of Megatron, in the form of a Nissan Fairlady Z. There were initially two paint schemes for this model & they came in either silver or blue. Shortly after that they came out with this Diamond Black version. In vehicle mode, Megatron looks fairly identical to the actual sports car.

Here's the rear view of the car. The bronze exhausts sticking out are actually part of his blades.

The doors & hood can be opened to reveal the details within.

In comparison to the Binaltech series, the details within are slightly under par.

At the bottom of the car, Megatron stores both his blades and they can be seen sticking out just a little bit at the rear, like extra exhaust pipes. Unlike the previous Binaltech series, the underside of the cars were meant to look realistic as well.

Once transformation is complete Megatron looks like a ninja to me primarily because of the design on the shoulders & the groin. The two blades although fit into the hands, are not tight fitting.

Take a closer look & you'll see that there are wrist blades that flip out at the arms. In vehicle mode the blades are tucked behind the seats. This makes Megatron a lethal close combat fighter.

This unit is not entirely made of metal parts. It is only the middle chassis that is metal while the rest of the parts are made of plastic. The foot joints are very sturdy, hence you can pose this unit freely without having to fear of toppling it.
