DANBOARD PLASTIC MODEL KIT

It has been a year or two since I've been keeping an eye out in the market for a Danboard (Danbo) that is selling at a good price. Finally Kotobukiya announced that they will be releasing a model kit version in 2012.

Much to my delight, this is what you'll see when you open the box up.

After assembly, Danbo stands at about 10cm tall.

Here you can see that Danbo also comes with a different set of eyes as though they are lighted up. This model kit does not come with any internal wiring but I'm sure hardcore fans out there are capable of kit-bashing this figure in order for the  eyes to light up.

To make it more realistic, the switch on the left of the head can be re-inserted and flipped the other way around, as though the switch is turned on. I've also used a silver pen to give the coin hole some color.

There is another piece that comes along with the kit for you to close the head up into a cardboard box.

Here's a back view of Danbo.

This figure sure looks adorable when posed in an array of postures. One thing to note is that it's very difficult to pose Danbo sitting vertically up right due to the weight of the head.

You'll also notice in the images that there are many holes all over Danbo's body. There are actually brown sprues that come along with this kit for you to cover up these holes. The main purpose of these holes are for you to add on weapons to Danbo for display purposes.

Here's the water decals that comes along with the kit. I've not decided to use any of it as I prefer Danbo the way it is, just plain & simple.

In terms of additional kits & weapons, here's what I mean. These weapons were taken from one of my Gundam kits & there are many other weapons & upgrade kits that you can use to attach into Danbo. This is what makes this kit so fun, as compared to the Revoltech versions.
