BB #197 MUSHA DEATSCYTHE

(LIMITED EDITION GOLD PLATED VERSION)

In the year 2000, this was the first batch of toys that I purchased from Toys 'R Us when I was still in college. Back then, there was a roadshow at one of the local malls at the center concourse showcasing some limited edition Gundams. Since I had all the time in the world as a college kid, I decided to pick up a few of these limited edition units.

This is BB Musha Deatscythe. This bot is the samurai & Super Deformed (SD) version from the series Gundam Wing (Endless Waltz).

Here we see Musha Deathscythe naked without any armor on yet. If you look closer, you will see silver marking lines on it. For a huge handful of my Gundam toys (& other collection) I have had the tendency of using silver markers, rather than a black marker to enhance the appearance of the robots.

Here's the bot with the shoulder pad, helmet & the long scythe.

Practically the entire toy is gold plated (not actual gold) as you can see. Each side of the wing has two points of articulation.

Musha Deathscythe also carries a samurai sword on one side of the waist.

This bot can also close its wings to form a protective armor.

Unlike other higher grades such as Master grade, 1/144 or 1/100, the wings don't just bend forward & close. Instead, you'll have to detach the wings & connect them to the front of the shoulder pad to close the armor up.

In this mode, Musha Deathscyth can also carry his mighty weapon and the cape isn't an obstruction.

Having constructed a couple of these Gundams, I slowly started to garner a small collection of toys. I first started off with Gundams, slowly shifting to an array of other toy lines such as GI Joe, Spawn, Star Wars, Transformers & many others. I could say that THIS is where it all began...
