RODIMUS PRIME

When I was studying in Australia, due to budget issues I didn't get my hands on this. But sometime in 2012 when Hasbro has a re-issue I didn't want to miss this toy again.

Although a reissue under the Commemorative Series category, I believe the plastic quality has been retained.

Rodimus comes with a trailer & can be separated with just a light pull. From the image above, you can see that the trailer is attached to the front vehicle with a simple peg.

Different angles of the front car. In vehicle mode Rodimus Prime looks very different compared to G1 Hot Rod especially at the back.

Now let's take a closer look at the trailer.

The trailer opens to reveal a pair of huge cannons that can be erected to form a mobile shooting turret.

Once you flip out the turret, you can attach both the blast walls that come with the toy. It's a pity that the manufacturers did not make any sticker decals for the display screen on the cannons.

Here you can see that the turret can rotate at any angle.

Next we take a look at Rodimus himself. It looks as though Rodimus has just had a bad day with droopy eye bags & a frown on his face.

Don't you think this robot looks a little out of proportions in terms of its height. Do spend some time & patience when applying the sticker decals on this figure if you want your toy to look good.

Articulation on Rodimus is horrible. You can only move the arms. The head is not moveable while the knee looks as though it can be bent due to the difference in plastic but no, there are no joints at the knee.

Here's a couple of shots showing Rodimus on his trailer, making full use of his cannon turret. Although articulation is horrible, this piece does bring back a lot of G1 memories making it worthwhile to leave this figure on display.
