METAL GEAR REX [ORIGAMI]

This robotic weapon comes from the third installment of the Metal Gear game series titled Metal Gear Solid. In the game, Metal Gears are autonomic bipedal armed tanks that also function as a nuclear launch platform.

The prominent factor is that I made this Metal Gear REX completely from paper.

The long magnetic railgun is used to fire untraceable nuclear warheads anywhere around the world. With this, there is no launch flare or propellant trail to trace the origin of the launched warhead.

The radar dome works as a scanner to sweep for information about the environment around REX. One major flaw in this model is the radar dome itself. If heavily damaged, the pilot has to expose himself to view the surroundings.

Looks like a frog from the back.

Aerial view of REX.

Here's REX standing next to a legend class Bumblebee fr size comparison.

Lastly, I've also uploaded the templates to build this weapon. CLICK HERE  for the master files & instruction on how to make your own REX. Have fun folks!

SHOCKWAVE BUST

This bust was released by Diamond Select Toys in the year 2008. The half-body bust standing at about 6 inches, was sculpted by Art Asylum and is limited to 1000 pieces worldwide.

Although the bust is made of hard resin, do be careful when handling the sculpture. This bust comes in one single piece & does not require any assembly. However, the bust had a minor accident & the tip of the transparent hand blaster broke off. I was able to repair it with some clear plastic glue. Now it looks almost flawless again, because the crack line is very fine & you won't notice it.

At the bottom of the bust, it is hand numbered at #109. Each bust also comes with a certificate of authenticity.

EVAC

This cute buggy is from the Transformers Prime Cyberverse series. Who said that good things don't come on small packages?

There are four slots for you to attach the weapon. This same weapon is also being yield by other Cyberverse characters such as Arcee & Bumblebee.

It only takes a few simple steps to transform Evac into robot mode.

You can't expect much from a Cyberverse in terms of articulation but Evac does look sharp for a small bot. There are paint details at the front of the chest and the Autobot emblem can be seen on the upper left chest.

TORNADO STRIKE

This is the first of the NERF / Super Soaker series water guns that I purchased. It has been a long time since I owned a Super Soaker as a kid.

When the first wave of these toys came out, the Tornado Strike immediately caught my attention. The thing that I like about this gun is that it looks like a CQB weapon.

The stock can be removed & interchanged with other NERF weapons. The Tornado Strike also comes with a rail system at the top for you to add on other accessories such as a laser pointer or the targeting cross-hair.

The stock can be extended back in various lengths to suit the comfort of your shoulder when firing the toy. Below the gun is the pump that works as the firing mechanism. Unlike other Super Soaker models that we used to play with, you don't have to pump the gun to store up the pressure before firing.

If you look closer, there is no trigger to the gun. Each time you pump the gun, the weapon fires two spinning streams of water. The firing range of my Tornado Strike goes up to about 7 meters.

Here's the new way of reloading the Tornado Strike. The water is stored in what looks like your typical ammo clip. All you have to do is to slide the orange lever to pull the clip down. Then, you can remove the round cap at the front to fill it up with water. Each clip can store up to about 300ml of water.

I got hold of another clip separately. If you have a closer look. One side of the ammo clip comes with a belt clip for you to strap it onto your pants. Lastly I must say that this is an enjoyable piece of toy.
